Poking Nana Pokua on her birthday

Splendid Nana, a fairy princess in kind

Sunrays dispensing raw energy to bind

Affections to reflecting without a dime

Unable to wipe desire of ceaseless time

Inherent wishes quelled in limbo’s rhyme

Inhaled fragrance essence of rosy chime

A floral tribute for a graciousness bred

Carved from Rosetta, stone of velvet red

Mouldered from nature’s finest elements

A friend dear yet so distance from hearts

Remotely, unable to assuage one’s thirst

Dreams kept ablaze in moments first

Pokua poked tinder, keeping aflame hopes

Poking embers of distant time probing

For lost seasons and lost times on the globe

Reaching a peak, wayfarers powerless to rob

A desire to set dinner in a diamond robe

Reaching to sky galvanised by a throbbing fob

A joyful birthday to a Princess
